Release date and price
$12.99 is the list price and $9.74 is the launch price — 25% off for the first 14 days from 5 November 2026. That window closes on 19 November, so 11 days were left when this was checked on 7 November.
Airframe Ultra released on 5 November 2026 for Windows at $12.99, with a 25% launch discount that brings it to $9.74 for the first 14 days. The discount period ends on 19 November 2026. As of 7 November there are 11 days left.
Both numbers come from the official 31 October devlog, which states the price and the discount in the same section: "the game is going to launch with a discount. It'll be 25% off for the first 14 days, so if you pick it up on launch, it'll be $9.74."

Fractional prices in other currencies will not land on $9.74; the publisher says it priced overseas markets with a third party rather than accepting Steam's automatic conversion, calling the default conversion "not always as fair as it looks on the tin".
What else shipped on 5 November
Launch day was also the first day of Eight Days to Infamy, a seven-challenge community event that runs to 12 November. It does not change the price, but it does mean the first week has a live reason to be on the official Discord at 9AM Pacific: that is when each day's challenge drops. The event page has the full schedule and the prize for each day.
The same day, the game's store page went from pre-order to purchasable, and the achievements went live. The rarest of the 21 is held by 0.0% of players; the most common, a cosmetic-related unlock, sits at 97.0%. The achievements table lists all of them.
Is $9.74 a fair price for this?
That depends on what you are buying it for, and there is no honest way to answer it with a review score. What you can compare is scope against other multiplayer-only racers in the same band.
| What you get | Airframe Ultra at $9.74 |
|---|---|
| Online PvP | Yes |
| Local split-screen PvP | Yes |
| Online and local co-op | Yes |
| Single-player campaign | No (no Single-player category on Steam) |
| Offline mode | No |
| Bot matches | Not in the launch build per player reports; one launch-week review mentions bots |
| Content cadence | "Every quarter or so" per the 3 November post |
| Launch content volume | Small by design — the team says 1.0 is fundamentals-first |
The nearest frame of reference most players use is "how many hours before I run out of things to do". The achievement percentages answer that indirectly: 59.5% of players have finished a first match, and only 18.1% have completed five circuits. Whatever the price is worth to you, the median buyer is not staying for a long campaign.
If you are waiting for a sale
The 25% launch discount is the first discount this game has had; it is also the only one with a published end date. There is no official word on a deeper cut later, and the publisher's stated model is expansion packs every few months rather than heavy base-game discounting — the 3 November post describes expansions you can buy early to support the team, with each previous expansion rolled into the base game when the next one lands. Waiting for a 50% cut is a bet, not a plan.
Regional pricing
Steam charges different amounts per region, and the publisher has said it does not use the default conversion. That means the ratio between your local price and $12.99 is not fixed. If you are outside the US, check the store page in your own currency rather than converting $9.74 — that number is the US price, not a promise for every storefront.
What happens on 19 November
No announcement covers that date. What is known is mechanical: a 14-day discount that started on 5 November ends 14 days later, and the price returns to $12.99 unless the publisher says otherwise.
