Airframe Ultra

System requirements

CHECKED 2026-11-07 · Specs

Quick answer

Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, i3-3220 or FX-4300, 6 GB RAM, GTX 650 / HD 7750 / Intel HD 630, DirectX 11, 1 GB storage, broadband. Recommended: i5-6400 or Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1050 Ti or RX 560. A gamepad is recommended in both columns.

Airframe Ultra's system requirements are modest, and that is one of its real advantages. The official minimum from the Steam store page asks for a GTX 650 or HD 7750 with 1 GB of VRAM, 6 GB of RAM and 1 GB of disk — hardware from roughly 2012.

Both columns are quoted from the store page as published on 7 November 2026. The recommended column exists on the store page even though the API's short requirements object only carries the minimum.

Why the bar is this low

Two structural reasons, both visible in the game's art direction:

  1. The aesthetic is PS1-era by design. Eroded pastel chevrons, wobbling vertices and flat-shaded geometry are cheaper to render than photoreal materials, and the developers chose that look deliberately — their own pillar calls it "Lo-fi Cyberpunk".
  2. The content volume is small. 1 GB of storage is roughly the size of a large demo. There are not dozens of 4K texture sets to stream.

The upside for you: a laptop with Intel HD 630 integrated graphics clears the minimum on paper. The honest caveat is that "clears the minimum" and "runs well online" are different claims, and the game is online-only, so your connection matters more than your GPU.

What the 6 GB / GTX 650 bar means in practice

Your machineLikely experience
Integrated graphics from the last 5–7 years (HD 630 class)Playable at low settings, expect frame drops in arenas
Laptop with a discrete MX-series or GTX 1050-class GPUComfortable at 1080p
Desktop GTX 1050 Ti or betterRecommended spec, no concerns
Anything from the last three GPU generationsWell above spec

The RAM figure is the one to check on older laptops: 6 GB is unusual as a floor, and a machine with 4 GB will not launch the game despite an adequate GPU.

The controller question

Both requirement columns end with the same sentence: "Gamepad highly recommended for optimal steering control." That is not boilerplate. Steam's category list also carries Gamepad Recommended as a separate flag alongside Full controller support and Keyboard Only Option.

InputOfficially supportedOfficially recommended
GamepadYes — full controller supportYes — recommended in both columns
Keyboard and mouseYes — keyboard only optionNo
Wheel or flight stickNot listedNot listed

The keyboard path exists because Steam requires a playable configuration, not because the design targets it. If you are buying for a keyboard, expect the hover-bike to feel as twitchy as its reputation.

Network requirements

"Broadband internet connection" appears in the minimum column, which is Steam's way of saying the game does not function offline. Given there is no single-player mode and no offline mode, that is consistent rather than surprising — the multiplayer page covers what that means for a purchase decision.

Disk and download

1 GB is the install size, not the download size; Steam compresses. On a metered connection, expect well under a gigabyte of transfer for the initial install, which makes this one of the cheapest modern releases to try on a whim.

If you are below the minimum

ComponentCheapest realistic fix
RAM under 6 GBAdd a stick; 6 GB is a hard floor for the engine
GPU below HD 630Not worth upgrading a machine that old — the CPU will be the next wall
No broadbandThe game is not for that machine; there is no offline mode

Where to verify your own numbers

The store page's own system requirements block is the authority, and it is what this page quotes. If your machine is borderline, the useful test is the refund window rather than a benchmark: Steam's standard two-hour refund policy covers a session long enough to know whether the arenas hold frame rate.
